WATTS RADIANT ONIX TUBING
Catalog Page
-Manufacturer's Spec.
All of Wats Radiant's experience, planning and engineering led to Onix. Onix's inner tube is formulated with Durel(TM), a premium steam hose EPDM elastomer with extra carbon black added for enhanced thermal conductivity. EPDM has a proven record at high temperatures, and retains its flexibility
at low temperatures, too. So Onix is easy to install in cold temperatures, yet at the same time, can withstand a runaway boiler situation. The inner tube is then wrapped with a ductile 00 grade aluminum (AlumaShield), providing a long lived, high-temperature oxygen barrier. AlumaShield has excellent barrier properties, while allowing Onix to bend without damage. Next is another extruded layer of EPDM (contour layer). We then wrapped the contour layer with spiral cords of Aramid fiber, a premium high temperature product used in bullet-proof vests and firefighters' suits. This gives Onix a 800+ psi burst pressure rating at room temperature. Aramid is one of the most heat and chemical-stable fibers known to man. Finally, we wrapped the inner layers with a durable cover of enhanced EPDM (HiGuard) to make Onix nearly indestructible on the jobsite.

The final result is an extremely durable, flexible, and installer-friendly radiant heat tubing formed by five heat- and age-resistant materials. It's a radiant heating product that can be installed with lifelong confidence. |

WATTS RADIANT E - PEX B TUBING
Catalog Page
-Manufacturer's Spec.
The cross-linked molecular structure of RadiantPEX offers toughness, flexibility and lasting durability. RadiantPEX is corrosion resistant and virtually maintenance free. This pex tubing withstands temperatures ranging from below freezing to above the boiling point. RadiantPEX combines all of the traditional advantages of plastic pex tubing, but with an EVOH oxygen barrier. This barrier provides added protection against corrosion for the various ferrous components of a heating system. RadiantPEX is manufactured to meet the American Standard Testing Method for cross-linked Polyethylene Tubing (ASTM F 876) and all sizes are made to the Standard Dimension Ratio for plastic pipes, SDR 9.
All RadiantPEX pipe and fittings carry a limited lifetime warranty for residential radiant floor heating and a 20-year warranty for commercial and snow melt systems.
RadiantPEX Applications
RadiantPEX is ideal for new construction, and the occasional remodel, the use of concrete slabs along with RadiantPEX makes for an excellent radiant floor heating application. Click any of the following images for additional information.
